Effective date: April 25, 2026
Ductor is a GPS-triggered audio guide app developed by Dimitris Onisiforou ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.
When you use Ductor, we may collect the following information:
Location data. Your GPS coordinates are used to trigger audio narrations when you are near a heritage site. Location data is sent to our server to determine proximity to sites and is stored in connection with site trigger events.
Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address and display name.
Questions and AI responses. When you ask a question through the in-app AI guide, your question text and the AI-generated answer are stored and linked to your user ID.
Usage data. We collect session events, site trigger events, and drop-off events to understand how the app is used. These may be linked to your user ID if you are signed in.
Device information. We collect battery level and distance from sites for operational purposes.
Feedback. Any feedback messages you submit are stored.
Analytics. We use Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated usage data such as site triggers and questions asked.
Ductor's AI guide feature sends your question text, along with site context information, to OpenAI for processing. This data is sent only after you provide explicit consent within the app. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings. When consent is revoked, the AI guide feature is disabled and no further data is sent to OpenAI.
We use the data we collect to provide and improve the audio guide experience, trigger narrations based on your location, answer your questions about heritage sites, and analyse usage patterns to improve the app.
Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers located in Europe (europe-west1). We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service.
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, solely for the purpose of operating the app: Google Firebase (hosting, database, analytics), OpenAI (AI question answering, with your consent), and the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Billing) for payment processing of in-app purchases.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@ductorapp.com. You may also revoke AI consent within the app at any time.
Ductor is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
